At Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tamawhariua, we prioritise the wellbeing of our kuia and kaumātua through regular check-ins, support, and advocacy for whatever they may need. This includes assistance with things like accessing superannuation, organising hearing aids, attending appointments, and more. We’re here to awhi our kaumātua every step of the way. We also run a dedicated programme, Te Rōpū Whakatipu Kōrero, providing a safe and uplifting space for connection, sharing kōrero, and enjoying time together as a whānau.
To be eligible for Kuia & Kaumātua support you need to be aged 65 years or older, or 50-64 with age related needs, or requiring long term support for chronic health conditions.
