whānau ora kaiārahi
Our Whānau Ora Kaiārahi are here to walk alongside whānau on their journey toward wellbeing, independence, and self-determination. We have two Kaiārahi supporting our communities — one based in Katikati and one at Ōtāwhiwhi Marae, ensuring support is accessible across the rohe.
The role of the Kaiārahi is to empower whānau to set their own goals, create a clear plan, and access the right resources and services to achieve long-term wellbeing. This support is grounded in the belief that whānau hold the solutions within themselves — we’re simply here to awhi, guide, and uplift.
Support can include:
-
Facilitated hui with whānau to identify aspirations
-
Creating tailored plans to reach desired outcomes
-
Accessing and navigating health, education, housing, and social services
-
Advocacy with agencies like MSD, IRD, ACC, and Oranga Tamariki
-
Strengthening all aspects of wellbeing – tinana (body), hinengaro (mind), wairua (spirit), and whānau – through the Tūāpapa model of care, based on pono, tika, and aroha
Whether you’re just getting started or need support to move forward, our Kaiārahi are here to help you take the next step.
